Twitter users often complain about missing interesting tweets while offline. To return to the moment when a person left the Web and view the news feed, you need to scroll through dozens of tweets, which is not very convenient. The new Twitter feature solves this problem.
The microblogging service launched the “While you were away” function in the iOS application, which highlights the current tweets that the user missed. For people who do not have time to follow their feed, the system automatically collects all the popular tweets in a special section. The service is based on data about the users that the person is following and on the information that he is usually interested in.
The “While you were away” function is one of six innovations that Twitter has planned. In the near future, the company intends to improve the system of personal correspondence, optimize the technology for attracting new users, and expand the capabilities of geolocation functions. In 2015, Twitter plans to increase the pace with which new opportunities appear.
At the moment, the function “While you were not” is working in test mode and is not yet available for all users. Its full release will take place in the coming weeks.
